I always thought of myself as a work in progress, but now I know I am a Late Bloomer! As a girl growing up in Upstate New York, I was an artist, a musician, an actor and a writer. In college I majored in nursing because my parents thought it was a good profession for a woman, but all the time I was dreaming of a more creative life. After graduation, I went on to live my parents’ dream by becoming a nurse, but I also followed my own dream by moving to New York City, which in my view was the center of the creative world. During the thirty years I have lived in New York, I have earned three graduate degrees, in nursing, law and acupuncture, and have practiced all three professions, and I have studied singing, acting, fashion design, interior design and jewelry design. Today, I am a healing artist working as an acupuncturist in private practice in New York. Because I have had such a varied professional life, people always ask me things like, “When are you going to decide what you want to be?” My answer is, “Never! I have no plans to stop dreaming, so I expect to keep growing and blooming in new and unexpected ways.”
